Exciting, crazy, information over load! I was told that over 22 thousand individuals were in attendance, that’s almost three times my home town population. ALA’s opening session included Chicago’s mayor (Rahm Emanuel), who instructed attendees to go out there and spend, since he had a city to run. Go Bears! The first session I attended was Friday morning with PAN (Print Archive Network). Several individuals spoke about saving print, (specifically the last copy of a book) between library consortiums as rewarding and a must in order to preserve history.
